K A T I E C H I L D S
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, I went to college in Chicago, Illinois and graduated with a bachelor's degree in fine arts in Interior Design. I have always had a love and passion for films and television from a very early age and knew that I wanted to help bring words on a script page to life through the richness of details, textures and colors of a set. Also to help an actor to embody their character and story through their surrounding. I have worked in several media types, including features, television, documentary, commercials and music videos.
My experience includes working on projects like the Oscar-nominated 'Passengers' for Best Production Design, and action-packed movies such as the newest Spider-Man series "No Way Home" and the third movie in the series "Homecoming". I have had the the privilege to work on several other projects for Marvel and D.C as well. I was part of the team that helped bring back the iconic Overlook Hotel sets in the sequel to the "Shining", "Doctor Sleep". Additionally, I have helped bring to life Disney's 'Haunted Mansion' for the second time and the hit Broadway musical 'Prom' to the big screen. I contributed to the creation of a futuristic world and spaceships in the movie Atlas, and also worked on indie films like Max Rose, which featured Jerry Lewis in his last project.

Location work has been a significant part of my career, and I enjoy the unexpected discoveries and resources that may be reused for future projects. Some of these locations have been, Atlanta, Savannah, New Orleans, Dallas, Fort Worth, Chicago and Detroit. I am grateful for the opportunity to work in my hometown of Los Angeles and have access to a vast network over the past 15 years. I enjoy traveling across the world for creative inspiration. These experiences, impressions, and friendships I have formed while traveling have served as the foundation for some of the most important aspects of studying certain projects and accumulating set dressing materials from all around the world.

I constantly look forward to the next project and the challenges it presents that I will be able to address using the information that I already have or the new knowledge that I will be able to acquire.
