Synopsis: The early life of musician Michael Jackson, from the discovery of his talent as the lead of the Jackson Five to the artist whose creative ambition fueled a pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world.
During additional photography, we were asked to elevate several of the sets and make them feel more magical and distinctive than they had during principal photography.
I was specifically asked to recreate Michael’s Havenhurst bedroom, while bringing out more of Michael’s playful, imaginative, and childlike spirit through the set decoration. I also helped reassemble the Havenhurst house from principal photography, with the goal of making it feel more lived-in, layered, and personal. We focused particularly on the kitchen and the family living room, adding details and character that made the spaces feel naturally inhabited and reflective of the family.
Additional Sets:I was also asked to help create a Mom-and-Pop 1980's toy store, Tom’s Toys, as well as the dance studio where the iconic music video “Beat It” was choreographed.
